the afterglow from the Johanniskapelle concert has been especially powerful and long-lasting; stayed awake until 4:30 am that night, sipping schnapps and decompressing/glowing with friends. and still today i feel like i’m floating. thank you again to everyone who made it such a magical and unforgettable evening; it could only have happened with the help, support and hard work of so many.
thank you to my truly amazing friends Martin and Steffi for arranging everything, for their help with and attention to every little wonderful detail, and for hosting me with such love and generosity. to Milo, Lenzi, Annett and Putzi for handling the drinks and catering with such style and energy. to Poldi for his excellence at greeting people at the door, selling CDs, and watching over the money box.
thank you to Live Club Bamberg for the PA system, and their flexibility with picking up and returning it. to Lutz, for so kindly loaning me the guitar amplifier. and to Franz, for his generous lending of the electric piano – it was such a joy to play.
thank you to Jochen for use of the inimitable Johanniskapelle, one of the most beautiful venues i’ve ever been lucky enough to perform in, and for giving us early access to set up and feel truly comfortable. leaving today after packing up was quite sad; it had come so quickly to feel like home.
thank you to Jana Lynn Rivers for opening the evening with a lovely set.
and thank you finally to everyone who came to listen, from near and far, and who filled the room with so much warmth and light. it was such a pleasure to sing for you, and to meet and speak with some of you afterwards. thank you.
there is another concert on the near horizon, at A-ROSA Hotel in Travemünde, Germany on Saturday, September 20th, where my friend and accomplished author Martin Beyer will open the evening with a reading. i’m grateful and honoured to have been invited to perform here, and can hardly wait to board a train later this week to begin this next adventure. more on this show, and others, tomorrow.
love,
eric.
